School is the duty number one for pupils. What are they doing, when they have no homework to do? Magenta Consulting have found entertainment activities that are suitable for children between 8 and 10 years old, according to Moldovans opinion.
Boys
Magenta team asked Moldovans to choose three most important and suitable games for boys.In In Figure 1., we indicated the games that respondents named in general (Total) and the games that were nominated on the first place. Therofore, according to the results of the study, most of Moldovan people (60%) designated the sport – volleyball, basketball, and footbal, as the most suitable activity for boys aged between 8 and 10 years old and about one third of respondents (28%) believe that this activity is the most appropriate.One of two respondents called reading books as the best way to spend free time in a funny way. And half of them qualify reading on first place, for boys.
Many have focused on creativity and motor development of children, especially, 36% believe that boys should play in the constructor game. This game occupied third place in top best games, with a share of 18%. Also, Moldovans have chosen among their top preferrences to help fathers in doing housework and outdoor games, each by 44%.
Sport has gained most votes from those who are living in urban areas, those with the age between 16 and 20 years old and those between 50 and 60 years old, also from people with higher education, and those who have a monthly income between 15 and 20 thousand lei. Reading has been chosen mostly by women.

Girls
For girls, there is a different situation. Firstly, Moldovan believe that girls should read books – 42 %. Generally, 68 % of Moldovan consider reading as a suitable activity for girls. Also, according to Magenta survey, 56% believe that when girls do not have homework to do, they should help their mothers in the household.Among the nominees for best activities, to help mother at housework is placed on the third position. Also, half of Moldovans consider outdoor games as suitable for girls of 8-10 years old. For reading pleaded young people, aged between 30 and 50 years and those who have secondary or higher education. Help provided by girls to their mother is mostly preferred by Moldovans from village and widows or widowers.

About half of Moldovans consider reading as appropriate activityfor both girls and boys. Various types of games won fewer votescompared to reading books, which means that the Moldovans recognize the importance of education and the need to invest time in education.
Methodology: The survey was carried out by Magenta Consulting on a sample of 1129 persons. The data from this survey are representative at national level and have an error margin of ±3% with a confidence interval of 95%. The data were collected in the period 22 September - 8 October, 2015
